About the Project
ESC conducted an EHS and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) for a well-known food and beverages company that owns and operates a number of brand subsidiaries in Malaysia.
Our Approach
To verify the transaction did not entail environmental and social risks that could pose a potential liability or risk to financial institutions, ESC assessed the potential environmental and social risks associated with the client’s business activities.
The ESDD was conducted at its operating outlets i.e., drive-thru outlets, shop lots, shopping mall kiosks and petrol stations kiosk as well as a warehouse located around the area of Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
The scope of work was divided into three stages which are: (i) documentation, license and permits review, (ii) virtual interview with Senior Management Team and physical site visits, and (iii) establish ESDD report and an action plan (ESAP) within the timeframe given.
Outcome
The client gained knowledge of the conditions of the target site/company based on the parameters described in the transactional due diligence report which the client will then use as the basis of their decision in this transaction.
