We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Consultant to join our team in Vietnam. In this role, you will play a key role in delivering projects for the private sector, following international standards such as IFC PS (International Finance Corporation Performance Standards) and ADB SPS (Asian Development Bank Safeguard Policies), as well as International Development Aid (IDA) sector projects. Additionally, you will provide technical support, report writing, and review services for both the private and government sectors in Singapore.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Project management and technical delivery of environmental and social consulting services to private and donor sector clients, with works focused primarily on delivery in accordance with international standards such as the IFC PS (International Finance Corporation Performance Standards), WBG ESS (World Bank Group Environmental and Social Standards), and ADB SPS (Asian Development Bank Safeguard Policies).
  • Technical delivery of environmental consultancy services to private and government sector clients in Singapore, including report writing and compilation.
  • Drafting and delivering environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs) for projects, with a focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, and oil and gas sectors. Inputs into various environmental and social disciplines are expected from the service.
  • Drafting and delivering various management plans and systems associated with ESIAs, including stakeholder engagement plans, land acquisition and resettlement action plans, livelihood restoration plans, community development plans, environmental and social management plans, and other environmental management plans as required.
  • Conducting environmental and social due diligence field visits and preparing reports for private sector clients, Equator Principles Financial Institutions, and other international financial institutions.
  • Contributing to ESC’s donor sector work, particularly within the field of solid waste management (e.g., waste collection, transfer, treatment, landfilling, and waste-to-energy options), wastewater treatment infrastructure, and other focus areas as required.
  • Reviewing reports developed by other consultants from across the ESC offices within the region, providing feedback to junior staff, and working with other senior-level staff to ensure appropriate quality assurance/quality control measures are implemented and high-quality deliverables are provided to ESC’s clients.
  • Seeking opportunities, particularly within Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, and collaborating with other senior ESC staff and leaders to develop opportunities, write technical and financial proposals, and finalize proposals in a manner that maximizes success for ESC in the region.
  • Undertaking project management and administration using ESC’s HeadsUp software.
  • Providing technical inputs into other disciplines and technical focus areas of ESC as required, including contaminated sites management, health and safety consulting, auditing, and acquisitions due diligence.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in delivering environmental consulting projects, preferably in the private sector.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as IFC PS and ADB SPS.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices in Vietnam.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Environmental Field Consultant / Geologist

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Environmental Consultant, the Environmental Consultant’s main responsibility will be to deliver and manage environmental impact assessment, environmental monitoring and management plan, air quality, noise and vibration, sustainability, and advisory projects in Singapore and across Southeast Asia.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental impact assessments such as EIA, EIS, EMMP, Pollution Control Study, Site-specific impact assessment, air quality and noise simulation study, sustainability, report writing and monitoring field work for Singapore and International Projects;
  • Perform Air quality monitoring, conduct air quality assessments, and coordinate with the modelling team;
  • Perform noise and vibration monitoring, conduct noise and vibration assessments;
  • Performing carbon emission calculations and writing reports for sustainability;
  • Project management and liaison with clients, project teams and government authorities;
  • Providing technical and regulatory support for ESC country-based teams in Asia;
  • Supporting the ESC Operation Manager and Country Directors to build upon the existing regional business and cross-sell other ESC technical disciplines to clients.

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Degree/Diploma with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in an international safety & environmental consulting environment, with a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, and demonstrated skills in phase I/II, as well as environmental impact assessment work including EIA, EIS, Pollution Control Study, Site-specific impact assessment, air quality and noise study, and sustainability. Working experience in a consultant firm or corporate EHS environment would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with air quality dispersion modelling (such as ADMS/ CALPUFF) and source emissions calculations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with noise modelling (such as CadnaA / SoundPLAN) and noise mitigation design is advantageous.
  • Familiar with carbon emission calculation and sustainability projects.
  • Experience in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Study and knowledge of IFC Performance Standards are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, planning and project management skills
  • Ability to deal with complex & sensitive issues.
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills (experience in liaison with Singapore government authorities is advantageous)
  • MS Access and/or ARCGIS knowledge are advantageous.

Consultant, Transaction Due Diligence

Reporting to the Principal, the consultant will be part of the team responsible to develop and manage ESC’s Transaction Due Diligence projects, including but not limited to ASTM ESA Phase I, ISO standard Environmental Due Diligence (EDD), and complex Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) according to the Equator Principles and international standards.

The Consultant role will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to assess and mitigate environmental and social risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to provide environmental consulting expertise and support in project planning and execution.
  • Support a variety of environmental and social site assessments scopes of work (e.g., ASTM ESA Phase I, ISO EDD, ESDD, WHSE assessments, etc.) across the APAC region, including:
    a. Proposal Preparation
    b. Physical and Virtual Site Visits
    c. Report Preparation, including GIS figure preparation
    d. Internal and client-facing communications
  • Assess and manage environmental risks and liabilities, providing recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.

The EHS Junior Consultant supports the EHS team in assisting with risk assessments, developing EHS policies and procedures for client, conducting audits, and assisting in implementing effective safety programs. Job Responsibilities

  • Support EHS consulting project : assist the team in various consulting projects by conducting research, gathering data, and preparing reports. Collaborate with consultants/senior consultants to develop effective strategies and solutions;
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes: keep abreast of changes in the local EHS regulations and industry standards. Provide recommendations for adapting policies and practices to align with the new requirements;
  • Conduct risk assessments: assist in performing risk assessment to identify potential hazards in the workplace. Evaluate existing safety policies and procedures and recommend improvements to mitigate risks and enhance safety performance;
  • Perform compliance audits: assist in conducting audits (on-site or virtual) and inspections to assess the Client’s compliance with the local EHS regulations and international standards.
