Global EHS Program Development for a Multinational Hospitality-Technology Company

ESC partnered with a multinational hospitality-technology company, recognised for its global accommodation and home-sharing platform, to deliver a full-service EHS solution across Asia-Pacific and other regions. 

About the Project

The client operates a network of offices across eight countries in Asia-Pacific, supporting a digital marketplace with thousands of hosts, guests, and staff in a fast-moving, low-risk environment. While conventional industrial hazards were limited, the company recognised the need to mature EHS governance, standardise processes, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions with varying regulatory requirements. 

When ESC began the engagement, there was no consistent global EHS program. Each location managed safety, compliance, and emergency preparedness differently. As the company scaled, this fragmented approach created gaps in oversight and inconsistencies in performance. ESC was engaged to provide a comprehensive, scalable solution to manage regional compliance effectively. 

Our Approach

ESC delivered its EHS Resources as a Service (EHS RaaS) solution by deploying a full-time EHS expert to manage the client’s regional EHS compliance across Asia-Pacific. This included implementing a standardised management system, coordinating audits, managing legal compliance, and providing guidance on emergency preparedness and operational safety. 

To enhance delivery in select locations, ESC worked alongside two EHS experts from its global partner network, Inogen Alliance, who collaborated directly with the client and ESC to provide additional regional insight and capacity. 

Key activities included: 

  • Designing the global EHS management system architecture, governance framework, and documentation structure. 
  • Building standard operating procedures, role-based responsibilities, and operational controls aligned to ISO principles. 
  • Working with the client to develop an automated site-audit tool and standardised templates for inspections, incident reporting, and legal compliance scoring to enable consistent, comparable metrics across offices. 
  • Implementing an emergency response framework (fire-drill management, crisis escalation and communications, site readiness) and running monthly inspections and audits. 
  • Performing legal compliance mapping and translating jurisdictional regulations into clear, actionable requirements for local teams. 
  • Supporting the client’s global ISO initiative by structuring evidence, coordinating workflows, and driving conformance across regions. 

This engagement demonstrated how ESC’s EHS RaaS model allows companies without in-house EHS teams to maintain a consistent, high-quality compliance program across multiple countries.

Through ESC’s dedicated EHS RaaS support, the client gained a reliable and consistent approach to managing regional compliance, enhancing both operational safety and organisational confidence.
