ESC was commissioned by Singapore’s national water agency to undertake Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Monitoring and Management Plan (EMMP) for the water pipeline projects.
About the Project
The client is the national water agency responsible for the collection, production, distribution and reclamation of water in Singapore. To enhance water sustainability and meet the growing water demand, the client embarks on a variety of development projects each year. Environmental consideration is an important part of the client’s planning and evaluation process, particularly for infrastructure projects which are located within biodiversity areas.
Our Approach
The scope of works calls for a team of specialists to undertake the detailed planning for the EIA for the water pipeline projects within the biodiversity sensitive area of the central catchment.
The EIA scope carried out by ESC includes reviewing construction methodologies, providing inputs into the detailed design of the pipeline alignment, sensitive receptors identification, impact assessment, recommendation on mitigation measures, as well as preparing a contract specific EMMP requirements for the contractor to comply with during the construction.
ESC is also engaged to carry out the comprehensive EMMP during the 3-4 years of construction, including monthly monitoring and reporting for noise, vibration, air quality, water quality, trees and vegetation, and fauna survey for Pre, During and Post construction of the project.
