ESC is delighted to announce that Press Metal has again chosen us to conduct a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for one of their facilities in Asia. This collaboration marks the fifth LCA project between ESC and Press Metal. The current study will be conducted for their aluminium and alloy rods manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia.
The new LCA project in Johor will adhere to internationally recognised standards ISO 14040 and 14044, along with the guidelines and requirements of the Southeast Asia Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) programme for LCA studies. ESC’s sustainability consultants will leverage their regional expertise to ensure compliance with all the necessary standards and regulations.
Press Metal will gain a deep understanding of their product’s environmental impact through ESC’s LCA. The assessment will cover every stage of the product’s life cycle, from raw material extraction to manufacturing processes up till factory gates. This strategic move serves multiple purposes for Press Metal, particularly in the context of EU export requirements and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
For Press Metal, conducting an LCA for their products can demonstrate transparency and commitment to sustainability.
