Singapore, 19 June 2025 — ESC has been awarded a key contract to deliver an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for a new aviation fuel infrastructure project supporting the ongoing expansion of Singapore’s airport terminal 5 capacity. The project will play a vital role in strengthening the nation’s aviation fuel supply system as part of broader regional development efforts.
This win reinforces ESC’s regional leadership in environmental consultancy, especially in complex infrastructure and energy-related projects across Asia. The EIA will guide the development of a fuel supply system designed to enhance aviation fuel delivery, with a focus on minimising environmental disruption while meeting the strategic transportation needs of the country.
ESC’s scope includes identifying potential environmental impacts and proposing science-based mitigation measures to ensure the development proceeds responsibly. The study will also incorporate biodiversity protection strategies, building on previous research in the area.
“Our team is proud to support this nationally significant infrastructure project,” said David Cham, Country Manager from ESC Singapore. “We bring deep experience in delivering strategic assessments that balance progress with protection — a hallmark of ESC’s approach throughout Asia.”
ESC has delivered similar assessments for major infrastructure, port, energy, and urban development projects in countries including Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. In Singapore, the firm has long supported sustainable infrastructure planning for both public and private sectors, ensuring projects comply with local regulations while aligning with international best practices.
The new assignment comes amid Singapore’s largest-ever airport expansion, which includes new terminals, runways, and cargo support systems designed to handle future travel demand. The planned fuel infrastructure will help ensure a steady and secure aviation fuel supply for the expanding network, a mission ESC is uniquely positioned to support thanks to its multidisciplinary expertise.
This project adds to ESC’s growing portfolio of high-impact work focused on resilient infrastructure and climate-smart development across the Asia-Pacific region. By combining international know-how with local insight, ESC continues to provide solutions that are both environmentally responsible and commercially viable.
