EnviroSolutions & Consulting (ESC) has announced the appointment of Khoo Boon Keat as its new Country Manager for Malaysia, effective July 18th, 2022. In his new role, Boon Keat will oversee all aspects of ESC’s operations in Malaysia and be responsible for expanding the company’s commercial presence in the country.

Boon Keat joins ESC during what is a period of exponential growth for the company. He has more than 30 years of experience in environmental management in the construction of large infrastructure projects, including soil erosion control, river/water pollution control, noise level control, waste management, social and stakeholder planning and engagements.

Boon Keat is a certified Sustainable INFRASTAR facilitator and has helped large infrastructure projects earn a 5-star rating. He has worked on Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Audits, and Feasibility Studies for projects all over Malaysia, including the railway, major roads and highways, dam, reclamation, coastal rehabilitation, bridge, marine, drainage, water and sewage treatment plant, township, and tunnel. He was involved in important projects like the KVMRT Putrajaya Line, KLIA 2, the Second Penang Bridge, the East Coast Rail Link, Teluk Chempedak, and the Pulau Tioman Beach Rehabilitation.

“I am excited about my new role in ESC and glad to be part of the senior leadership team. I am humbled to lead a dedicated and knowledgeable team and to grow their capacities as we further improve the business operations in Malaysia. There is a growing demand for innovative environmental solutions in Malaysia and ESC is in a good position to be part of the growth in this sector,” he said.

The appointment of a new Country Manager for Malaysia underlines ESC’s commitment to supporting local market demand for environmental services and strengthening the company’s footprint in the industry.

Commenting on the appointment, ESC Group CEO Frank Ganendran stated, “We believe Boon Keat will help accelerate our efforts to expand our market reach and partnerships in the areas we are pursuing. We are confident that our investments in Malaysia will strengthen our leadership position in the environmental consultancy industry.”

As the shift towards a more sustainable form of development gathers pace in Asia, ESC has been working with various partners across the continent to help them reduce their environmental impact. From his post in Kuala Lumpur, Boon Keat will work closely with clients, partners, and colleagues across the enterprise to further grow ESC’s reputation as Asia’s leading environment, safety, and sustainability consultancy firm.
