Jessie has more than 15 years of experience in environmental engineering & management, civil
engineering and project management. Her experience varies from broad level studies and master planning to detailed engineering, including environmental impact assessment (EIA/EIS), environmental monitoring & management plan (EMMP), strategic environmental assessment (SEA), wastewater treatment, solid and hazardous waste engineering and management, waste recycling, Occupational Environmental, Health & Safety (OEHS), Due Diligence, Site Assessment, Landfill Design, Air and Noise Pollution Control, Risk Assessment, Environmental Planning and Management, Water resources studies, ECO/green and Sustainability features for industrial parks and resorts, and sustainable development.
Jessie’s broad expertise includes ISO 14001- the Environmental Management System that provides the foundation for establishing Environmental Register that includes Environmental Aspects, Environmental Impacts and Significance determination, Impact Ranking and Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP), and ISO auditing. She has prepared more than 50 Environmental Impact Registers for all in-house consultancy projects worldwide. Additionally, Jessie has hands-on experience in project management for infrastructure consultancy and construction projects including water pipelines, roads, drains, sewers, site investigations, earthworks, and general civil engineering, etc.
Geographically Jessie is familiar with environmental laws and regulations in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Oman, Qatar, India, China, South America, etc.
Arjen has 23 years of professional experience working as a Consultant in the environmental industry. He has held Senior Management positions with technical, operational and financial accountability since 2005 and has on the ground project management experience in most Asia/Pacific countries, in Africa and Europe. His broad expertise covers site investigation, human health risk assessment and remediation, due diligence and compliance assessments, solid waste management, impact assessments and planning, and air quality management.
Over the past 10 years, Arjen has been focussed on directing projects and growing and mentoring teams for large scale upstream and downstream oil & gas (O&G) investigation and remediation programs and chemical and manufacturing sector projects in China, South Africa, and Indonesia. He has led several multi-year site investigation and remediation programs and numerous complex scientific, technical and environmental due diligence programmes, including site characterization, remediation options and costing analysis and remediation action plans each valued at over $10 million.
Geographically Arjen has advised on EHS risks, liabilities and compliance mainly for multinationals in Singapore, Indonesia, South Africa, China, Taiwan, The Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Japan, and The Netherlands.
Frank has 34 years’ experience working in Australia and the Asia-Pacific Region within the environmental and engineering consulting and professional services industry, mainly for large international firms, and has been in senior management/executive roles for the past 21 years.
In 2007 he established and grew a successful Australian-based consulting and advisory practice (E3 Consulting Australia) which was eventually acquired by Boston based CDM Smith Inc. in 2011.
His most recent role was as the Group Manager and Managing Director of CDM Smith Inc.’s Asia-Pacific region, in charge of an operation of approximately 1000 staff looking after design and construction projects across private and sector markets. He has a proven record of strong leadership, strategy development and implementation, training and developing executive managers, and delivering results. His valuable combined understanding of the intricacies of both Asian and Western modalities of business allows him to lead, communicate and be trusted across cultural boundaries effectively and successfully.
Since late 2016 Frank has assisted and mentored CEOs, boards and senior executives in strategic development, leading change and leadership, delivering strategic goals and business development. He joined the ESC Group as the Group Chief Executive in April 2019.
Andrew is founder and Managing Director of ESC and has worked within the Asian environmental industry since 1994, gaining extensive experience as an environmental specialist within industry, government and consulting organisations. Andrew’s broad expertise covers, solid waste management, planning and impact assessments, air quality management, due diligence and compliance assessments, where Andrew has advised on EHS risks for the acquisition and divestiture of global businesses.
Geographically Andrew has advised on EHS risks, liabilities and compliance for government and private sector clients in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, India, China, Australia, New Zealand, UK and Germany. With experience from project inception, development and planning through to operations, Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insights to all his consulting projects.
Dr Walsh, a chemical engineer formerly at BP Chemicals and Environmental Resources Management (ERM), is a director of EnviroSolutions & Consulting (ESC) in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. He has extensive project experience gained whilst stationed at ERM (a global environmental consultancy) offices in London (1989-1991), Hong Kong (1991-1995, rising to Director) and Singapore/Malaysia/Vietnam (as Director – South East Asia 1995-2005).
From January 2005, Dr Walsh has also been retained by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Indonesia as Environmental/Waste Management Advisor, where he designed, implemented and managed the US$40 million Tsunami Recovery Waste Management Programme (TRWMP) in Aceh. He also completed an environmental damage and loss assessment for the Yogjakarta earthquake of May 2006 for the World Bank and an EHS Audit of the World Food Programme Shipping Service in Aceh.
Mr. Landon has over 15 years of experience in International Development projects, both as a strategic manager and as a technical specialist. Mr. Landon’s technical expertise focus on water resources planning and management, Irrigation engineering, agricultural planning and development, solid waste management, rural development, institutional capacity building, livelihoods development, and post disaster early recovery planning and management.
Mr. Landon has managed, and been Team Leader on, a number of projects in developing countries, situated in post-disaster and post-conflict environments, including ETESP and NSIASP in Aceh, Indonesia, and the ELWDP Command Area Development Project in Eritrea.
Zai has over 20 years of environmental consulting experience. The majority of her work has been for oil/gas, petrochemical, and infrastructure clients throughout Asia and the Middle East. She has managed, coordinated and been a team member of numerous baseline and environmental impact studies, as well as site audits, mainly for merger and acquisition projects. She is experienced in intrusive sampling techniques for soil and groundwater. As a trained ecologist, she is also knowledgeable in flora and fauna surveys as well as the collection of terrestrial baseline information. Zai is currently managing the Malaysian operations for ESC.
Zai is also experienced in providing regulatory support, sustainability consulting, environmental management support as well as preparing environmental management plans and monitoring programs for a variety of sites, across different industries including for oil/gas, industrial and infrastructure clients. Zai was an ISO14001 Certifier under ERM CVS and has also successfully completed several courses on-site and asset auditing. She is also a registered EIA Consultant with the Malaysian Department of Environment as well as the National Resources and Environment Board, Sarawak.
Steve has over 20 years of air quality assessments, air emissions inventories, compliance management and permitting, prediction and air dispersion modelling, emissions testing and ambient air monitoring, mobile source studies and auditing experience in Asia, Europe and Australia. He has led numerous investigations requiring the design and management of ambient air quality monitoring studies based upon the results of air dispersion modelling with a complete understanding of the relevant instrument installation requirements and the modelling limitations.
He has led air quality assessments and managed multidisciplinary environmental impact assessments in the industrial, manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, infrastructure (e.g. rail, airports, road and ports), power generation and construction sectors. These studies have involved both government and private enterprise projects, some being highly sensitive from a political or environmental perspective.
Steve has authored and co-authored three book chapters and over 20 internationally peer reviewed journal papers in air quality science.
Sabine is a Principal Risk Consultant specializing in Industrial Safety. She is responsible for the development of the Safety, Health and Risk business area in Singapore and South East Asia. She provides high level technical and scientific support regarding complex safety, health and risk projects and studies throughout South East Asia.
Sabine has close to 20 years of experience in the field of Industrial Safety, Health and Risk. Her experience includes Safety Case Studies for Major Hazardous Installation (under the SEVESOII-act). As part of the Safety Case Studies, she has set up numerous of Safety Management Systems and provided support to companies EHS teams with regards to behavioral/ cultural change. She is also a member of the Singapore Chemical Industry Council Working Group to review SS506: Part 3 – Occupational safety and health (OSH) management systems – Part 3: Requirements for the chemical industry and align to the new ISO45001 Occupational health and safety management systems — Requirements with guidance for use.
Sabine serves as a mentor/trainer for the team members within the Singapore office as well as the regional offices. Furthermore, as the Principal Risk Consultant, she leads the technical team who are executing the technical aspects of the risk work. She has extensive experiences with specific computer modelling software to perform a variety of risk studies including DNV’s Phast/ Safeti, SAFETI-NL and TNO’s Effects/ RiskCurves.
