Hong Kong, April 14, 2025 – ESC is pleased to announce the appointment of Gerald Chan as the new ESC Hong Kong Principal-in-Charge. With over 13 years of experience in energy management, green building design, and corporate sustainability, Gerald brings valuable expertise as he leads ESC Hong Kong into a new phase of growth.
Gerald began his sustainability journey in 2012, after starting his professional career in engineering. His technical foundation, coupled with a growing passion for environmental impact, shaped a diverse career in sustainability. He has held regional leadership roles across the real estate and financial sectors, where he led cross-functional teams to meet ambitious carbon reduction and ESG goals.
As the new Principal-in-Charge of ESC Hong Kong, Gerald will lead the expansion of environmental impact assessment and permitting services and grow ESC’s Sustainability & Climate Change business line. He will also support clients with integrated ESG and decarbonisation solutions while fostering stronger collaboration across ESC’s regional teams.

At the industry level, Gerald recognises the rising complexity of sustainability requirements. He aims to leverage ESC’s comprehensive environmental and sustainability services to help clients navigate risks and opportunities in energy, supply chains, and regulatory compliance.
He also believes his diverse background—spanning startups, SMEs, and global corporates—brings a fresh perspective to the team. His experience as a regional lead gives him the ability to bridge cross-country operations and enhance collaboration across ESC’s footprint.
Looking ahead, Gerald envisions ESC Hong Kong becoming a trusted partner in Hong Kong’s transition toward net zero. With his leadership, the team will be well-positioned to support emerging market needs and drive the company’s continued growth in the region.
