Reporting to the CEO, the Managing Principal will manage ESC’s Sustainability & Climate Change (SCC) business line. Job Responsibilities

  • Work full-time on-site at the construction site
  • Provide EHS support in various areas including Construction Site Safety audit protocols, with a detailed scope and deliverables
  • Offer support and recommendations to our Client and our Client’s Consultant Companies Resident Site Staff (“RSS”) regarding the EHS management system established by the Main Contractor
  • Review and provide advice on the EHS instructions based on our Client’s in-house standards, and the Client’s Tenant-specific needs/requirements, and ensure EHS compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements and ordinances in Hong Kong and the US.

Job Description

As a Consultant (Social) for EnviroSolutions & Consulting, you will be part of a team that delivers ESHIA, environmental and social action plans and other related documents. You will be responsible for the social component of the work including identification and assessing the social risks and impacts of the project. You will need to be familiar with IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principle and other related international guidelines. Experience in social assessment in infrastructure projects, energy and solid waste management projects is an advantage. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, collaborative attitude, able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and proficient in oral and written communication skills in English.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Familiar with community engagement and public consultation process including face-to-face interactions such as workshops, seminars, Focus Group Discussions and meetings with community members.
  • Prepare stakeholder engagement plan including identification and mapping of stakeholders and identification of key social issues.
  • Prepare methodology for socio-economic baseline surveys as part of ESIA preparation.
  • Provide general support in undertaking activities such as environmental and social impact assessments such as ESIA, AMDAL, EMMP, Site-specific impact assessment, environmental and social due diligence, sustainability, report writing and monitoring field works for Indonesia and international projects.
  • Provide technical and regulatory support for the team.
  • Lead in report preparation including writing and review of reports in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, community development or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 3- 5 years of relevant experience in the field including in consultancies.
  • High familiarity with international standards including Equator Principle and IFC Performance Standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
